Loose
I can imagine you
Dancing at the Paradise Lounge,
Where drinks swim through
And guide loose connections.
I can imagine those days
By the water, splashing puddles
And kicking sand.
The setting sun's rays
Touch lightly and deeply.
I can imagine
Anything I want
And write it down.
I can punch these keys
Like I can punch walls
And never find an answer.
Life in a daydream
Consists of a reality
Less tender than flesh,
Where the world may be made sharper
For internal saviors,
Where love is lighter, less likely
To have me crumbling and bumping into walls
With random outbursts and overbearing emotions
That supersede my conscience.
In a world where I am in control,
I find the time to make things right
Yet wake up wrong
In a world less fortunate,
Where the ocean's undertow
Crawls up to our toes
And pulls the sand away.
