I loved to stargaze on a warm Summer's night
Living in a country village as a boy
The twinkling stars appeared amazingly bright
Providing hours of imaginative joy
A splendorous, almost spiritual sight
Which kids in cities never got to enjoy
And many have yet to see a starry sky
But I hope they get the chance before they die
Imagine billions of stars scattered above,
Like sparkling diamonds set on infinite black
Away from the city's grinding push and shove
Picture yourself lying down flat on your back
Beholding creation, basking in God's love
Silently listening to Nature's soundtrack
Feeling connected, as a part of it all
Looking up in awe, watching shooting stars fall
