Looking For Something

Have you found your key yet? The one that is useless to all but yourself, One that you can't buy off the shelf, Or borrow from an Elf. Have you found your key yet? The one that will open the many possibilities, And increase the probabilities, Of the full use of your abilities. You will know when you have found your key, For something you will see, That you never thought could be, That will suit you to a tee. You will know you have found your key, When you start looking forward with pleasure, To things that you never thought to measure, And never counted as treasure. Once you have found your key, You will always be looking forward to something, That will give your day some meaning, Even when your head is spinning. Now you have your own special key, Nothing to look forward to will be buried in your past, Along with your last negative blast, As finding something to look forward to becomes your new task Now you have your key, Looking back will hold no terrors, As you are now at peace with your past errors, And see only good things to look forward to in all your mirrors.

that is the KEY to all our hearts. The key to being who we were meant to be! I love the message of this well executed poem, David.

That means a lot coming from someone as talented as yourself. I still remember the thrill of anticipation as a child. We either find something to look forward to or end up looking back in anger. All the happy people I know are looking forward to something no matter how small. I think buying on credit takes the looking forward away from some. You have a good week Andrea. Fondest regards David in NZ

I really like the rhyme of the last lines each stanza. Reads to well. A pleasurable read. I have tried to send you a lengthy mail regarding Carnivores, I hope it comes through, and thanks for asking. Happy New Year.

Yes I got your mail thanks, it helped me a lot. Also thanks for your comments on my poem. They have made me think about form and ending stanza's and how my poetry flows. Sometimes I can miss on small details that enhance the whole. I am writing more and better I hope since joining poetry soup and being able to read poetry from others like yourself. Bye for Now David in NZ
