Looking For Psychedelic Sound

Psychedelic Sound

So you look at me and wonder why
I'm this kinda guy who doesn't even try
Seemingly I'm content to just get high
uninterested in your world of suit and tie
If you want a taste of my world I'll help you fly
Yes dipping into my sugar you could die
But me oh my it's better than pumpkin pie

You see I trip on all kinds of crazy
Who knew dreams could make you lazy
Colours are vibrant but the minds goes hazy
Oopsy daisy I know this is not how God made me
Still I'm more than content to groove on paisley

Walk away or come sit down
Stop being so constipated and rule bound
Slippdy do wop over to the dark sida town
Here square pegs like you become round
All of your missing bits won't be found
Yet you'll be flying high laying flat on the ground
loving every colour looking for psychedelic sound

Part of me feels bad I opened up the door
at least you don't fight those demons no more
Here even the concrete feels like a seashore
If you listen right you can hear the waves roar
Live ten years in just a minute or four
The spot you puncture won't even feel sore

Through my fog I heard whispers you were found
eyes glazed over, flat on the ground
I thought I was just imagining the gurgling sound
What's done is done it can't be rewound
You're probably better off under that mound
I would have come to say good bye
But I had a trip to take way down town
You sure were a blast, I'll miss you being around!

Hi Richard, the great destroyer. You wore this character well as your words described such painful scenes for us. You take the reader to the heart of your words as always Richard. To me, I found myself in a nightmare world, not a psychedelic world. Such a descriptive, superb write my friend. Have a wonderful Saturday. Your friend always....Mike.

Okay okay okay. Another chiller. Holy God the nightmares tonight! Did you, per chance, grow up reading Stephen King? :)

Oh! I recognize this, wish I didn't but I do. Not dipping into your sugar nonono. But i come sit down anytime for a chat, always, still do. And this made me swallow. It's a great write, yes it is, because it hurts.

Richard, this was very retro in its subject matter. I loved the references to an era I grew up in! I have never had any kinds of drugs except the ones dentists and surgeons give us and I love the fact they make me SLEEP,coz I sure can't sleep well! I am actually dying to try mushrooms one day. I heard they were not dangerous! And also want to try marijuana for pain in my shoulder. ARe you against its legalization? Utah won't allow it. You write well whether rhymed or free. Keep surprising us.

Seeing the effects I had no real attraction but I do understand the dynamics and motivations. Thanks for commenting.

Reminds me of 1977 I was working at a restaurant, and one of the cooks talked and acted like that, he even dipped his hand in the hot oil and laughed, he was on an acid trip, what a life! He's probably dead by now, where did you come up with such a write? Sounds like experience so realistic, but I think not! Thanks for the trip Rick!

I grew up in a home where there was substance abuse. Also I have spent time volunteering with street people.

- A deep and great writing, Richard - You describe a life many people living ... their choice ...or not ... everyone has a "page in the book" no one knows ... or wants to read - Well done - hugs // Anne-Lise :)
