Looking For Empathy Not Sympathy

Empathy and sympathy are as different as night and day, Empathy lives in shallow waters only, If you are looking for Empathy you need to look in deeper waters. Empathy has better eyesight by far, Has hearing more acute, And a greater understanding of the needs of others. Everyone of us is long on Sympathy, Most however come up short on Empathy, And some will never be blessed with a visit by it. A realisation that there are others in the world, Who have needs that are similar to our own Is a good indicator of who has Empathy and who has none. A person without empathy is more likely to be selfish, See their needs as paramount, And others merely there to make them so.
