Looking Back

A decade of the twenty-first century
Has already been spent and is gone.
Was it frittered away, unaware of the day
We need look back to see what we’ve done?

Have we thoughtlessly not stopped to thank Him
Every day for the rise of the sun,
For the days, the weeks, the months and the years,
A decade of working and fun?

We live in this world he made for us
Forgetting that it is all His.
Treat each blessed day before it slips away
As the wonderful gift that it is.

You have captured nearly everyone's thoughts about the last decade quite well with this offering. It has pervasive descriptiveness and adept rhyming. Good presentation!
