Looking Back

Sad and alone, my thoughts stat to wander
Over my life and what I have done –
My achievements – if any,
My failures – so many.
The loves I’ve lost and those I’ve found,
Sorrow I’ve brought,
Misery I’ve caused.
My ‘would be friends’
And ‘sometime enemies’.
People I’ve offended,
The trust I’ve betrayed;
And arguments I’ve caused.
Sometimes the peace I’ve made.
But all of that is past:
Now I must look to the future;
Though life is not easy,
We learn by our mistakes –
And so go on …..
