Look In the Mirror
It's hard
To look in the mirror
Isn't it?
You see everything you were
And everything you are
But
You can't see
What you're going to become
But
It's there in the mirror
Hiding in plain sight
Beneath all of the wounds
From yesterday's battles
Beneath the tears
Of yesterday's forgotten heartbreaks
Beneath all of the doubt
Beneath all of the pain
It's you
The real you
You want to be that you so bad
It's a cold glass of water
When your throat feels like the Sahara
You want to be that you
But
Focus on today
Don't rush that you
You're a flower
About to blossom beautifully
And you may not believe it
But
You're fantastic already
So when you look in the mirror
Don't dread what you see
Because the one you want to be
Is already there
And when you think about it
It's easy
To look in the mirror
Isn't it?
