Story Pin-bilde

- Longevity -

I know a lady who is 99 years aged
she will be 100 by winter
Every day she walks to the disused post office
  - an hour each way

  Eats, drinks healthily ...
and does all the housework herself
Even in the garden she is diligent
You should have seen her roses

In the evening she has a glass of port wine
and a piece of chocolate liqueur
It gives her a peaceful night's sleep
  - without medicine

Congratulations on your win. WOW!!! What a great "Longevity" write/picture. I bet her life style is what keeps her going. The long daily walk/housework/her roses then a glass of port wine/a piece of chocolate liqueur. Hugs... Have a blessed day with your wonderful win...............

Some are so blessed! Mere longevity is not a boon but a fit and sound longevity as this old lady of your poem who is still joyful and active. Your lifelike image adds to the charm of the poem. All the Best.

Love this! My dad has his martini every day, glass of wine with dinner.

That's pretty great! I see below she's fictitious. If you scale it back 5 years, it was my mom. She could walk a mile at 95, but lived to be 99.

Anne-Lise, I see the Sound of Music playing in your poem, and the lady who you know has the good fortune of growing up in a beautiful country. Best wishes.
