Long Clawed Devil Clown
We each within our self, deep down
Beneath the web of waking thoughts
Keep us a long clawed devil clown,
The image of our haunting fears and doubts.
He roared our fathers full of madness
Salting all the seven seas with tears
While crumbling empires fought to bless
The image of the prison of their fears
We shall rise anew, my good friends!
The mountain of doubt dividing us
Has reached the summit and now sends
Its peak self-piercing in a final thrust:
Though our fathers caged the devil clown,
Let's set him free and pass the pipe around.
