Notes About The Poem

For ink Empress Nonet contest

Lonesome Path

I tread a lonesome path, as heartache beats in haunting echoes, searching for solitude. As the world retreats from view, sorrows increase when you're unseen. I've become a ghost on distant shores. Moonlight my last trusted confidant, stars a mentor on silent nights. I hear wayward winds whisper, unspoken soothing rhythms, but vibes feel barren, bare and broken. A sole soul, lost in time.

Excellent entry for the contest, Silent One. I could feel the depth of the of passion in the lonesome heart, looking for solitude. The relief in the soothing unspoken whispers of the wind, and the broken feeling of being lost in time. I long for the feelings of timelessness here in my physical world and hope for the timelessness of eternity in the spirit. Ink will love this one. Cheers, my friend! Bill

Dear Silent one, as always a very poignant and evocative write this is, which makes readers feel the melancholy and the depth of your words woven here in such eloquence. So many lines stood out for me, which depicts solitude so very poetically, especially loved “ Moonlight my last trusted confidant, stars a mentor on silent nights. I hear wayward winds whisper,” they say when the world turns their back on us, connect with nature: nature is soothing and can be a confidant.congratulations!

What a soulful utterance of your solitude...dear Silent one. In all your poems, I discern a streak of melancholy crawling into your blood stream. We all have our private grief, in some it is more...that's all the difference! Nature and poetry are two powerful sources from which we poets derive relief. "Moonlight my last trusted confidant, stars a mentor on silent nights". Love these lines. A beautiful nonet.

This remarkable creation possesses a breathtaking display of imagery. Its flawless flow gracefully transcends the limitations of its prescribed form. A solitary spirit, adrift in the currents of time, the conclusion encapsulates the very heart and soul of this poetic masterpiece.

Splendid flow despite the constraints of the form, SO. A sole soul, lost in time--your ending spells the essence of your poem..

Interesting that you chose this photo of yourself. Goes great with the excellent poem, though I know in real life you have a warm family life and, do I remember you're a radio personality?
