Lone Fish

I observed some tiny fish whose formation was a ball, But one fish didn't keep up too well and lagged a bit behind. He looked a lot like a soccer ref, ready to call a foul, But perhaps, his sense of circle had never been defined.

Hilda, I like this a lot. I wonder how many of us see ourselves a bit like that fish....slightly off. The way you describe it with this image is quite kind, imaginative, clever, and nonjudgmental. It's short but spectacular really...a genuine reflection on what the motivation might be.

You have written a discerning rhyme based on shrewd judgement. An observational work on the dilemma one sometimes encounters in the decision making process. In response to your extraordinarily kind reflections on Wild And Free I did indeed invest a large amount of time on it

An intriguing thought, Hilda. Sometimes there's nothing wrong, the fish just didn't fit in. Probably a poet. LOL, I enjoyed reading your poetry today, my friend. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us through your poetry! Have a pleasant weekend! Bill

I was hoping it didn't sound too Zeusish. The picture of the fish came from Dishscapes on Dish TV.

An interesting and thought provoking, outstanding poem! Perhaps the lone fish 'swam' to the beat of a different drummer. I hope your week is nice. :)

Hilda, here is a really fundamental and nice assessment of one of the living species! The final Verse of the poem is just brilliant!

Thank you Sotto Poet. Someone told me that members of the fish family do have various personalities.

A charming poem Hilda to liken a fish that lags a little behind was a perfect likeness for a Soccer Ref. I really like this poem.

What a delightful poem Hilda and so well written especially that last line. Poor little fish - you observed well and captured his unfortunate position. A thought provoking read. So enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing. Hugs to you. :):)

You are such a deep observer and this is so heartfelt and soulful. Made me think deep too. Especially the last line. I think so too. Perhaps his sense of circle had never been defined. Pleasure always reading you

This is a lovely one Hilda. I always watch the starlings and feel sorry for the one trying to work it out. Hopefully the fish was purposely taking an observational position
