Orphan Sonnet
Created by: Dale Gregory Cozart with a rhyme scheme of Abab cdcd efef aA in three quatrains and a final couplet with the final line repeating the opening line.
You can't imagine living without love,
unable to heal that hurt in your heart.
And unnerved, you're questioning God above,
filled with anxieties that won't depart.
There are those that think love does not exist
it's merely the chemistry of hormones.
But lips can tell the difference when kissed,
for that kiss transcends erogenous zones.
Loneliness is the one pain you can't share,
and oft dreams slip away while you're dating.
It feels like psychological warfare
crying all those tears, constantly waiting.
But in this selfish world of push and shove,
you can't imagine, living without love.
