Living This Life

Trying to stay connected I wave at neighbors from across the sidewalk, street, and park. Wearing gloves I cover my mouth when I cough or sneeze. Owners of dogs I used to pet I smile and keep my distance. Basic things taken for granted have changed--will I get bread today? What neighbor needs help? Who is ill? Who is lonely? Sitting at home looking out my window we are together and apart. Waking up each morning I hope for something better joy and laughter— to live and freely touch family and friends again. I haven't seen my family in well over a month. But they are healthy, and in the end, that's all I could ask. Hold steady and keep the faith that this will soon pass. I hope all is well with you. JC Hawkens

Joan, I feel your words, I am much the same, I miss my family and friends, although we talk on facebook, etc, it is not the same, I want to sit with my friends at the coffee shop and chat and laugh, I want things to be like before, will they ever be ? _Constance
