Living In the Age of Stupid

A person lay in a quaggy ditch
Who was dead as dead can be
And on a tree there hung a sign
For all the world to see.

'Here lies a person who had every chance
But was the type to make a fuss.
They were put to death for the sordid crime
Of refusing to think like us.'

Now to those who think this puffery
And far beyond what some would do.
Go about your business and enjoy your life...
Until they come for you.

                           The End

Thank-you. There are things in this world we should pay attention to or they will bite us in the butt. Have a great day.

I like it. At present poets have a licence to think like nobody else. Long may that continue even after we die. Keep them coming. Best regards David in NZ

Well-spoke! Downtown Manhattan for sure... Lake Shore Drive of Chicago, equally so. Prescient warning, my friend. ~ Gershon

I don't if you saw this. But a Democrat had the gall to criticize Cortez for a bewildering performance on a panel on the middle East. He was visited by two police officers who claimed he had threatened her. He did not. These are becoming trying times my friend.

Tom mentions the middle east but by the looks of things, I can see this situation happening all over the globe and SOON. "prophetic" poem.

During the 'Black Lives matter' riots, they cornered a Trump supporter and executed him. The times they are a changing. Hang on to your hat... it's going to be a bumpy ride. Have a great day.

"Ask not for whom the bell tolls... it tolls for thee." Such is our lot in life. Have a great day.
