Living Hope

From a tender shoot, It thrived and persevered, Its boughs uncaged, Form a huge canopy, Its foliage, Green and lustrous, Its bark was a canvas for love inscriptions, Children ran around under its shade, The solitary seekers sat under to meditate in the sunset, A mighty storm arose, It shook the town to its foundations, It tore apart the weak, It fell, The tree fell, The roots held the fort, Its annual rings and core, Spoke volume of its strength and resilience, Good wood, good fibre, Good wood, good life. I enjoyed your poem. I have a new blossom sappling outside my house, it has blossomed but now the leaves look withered, I have given it lots of water, I hope it's going to be ok. Congratulations on your placement.
