Living For the Lord

Living for the Lord means
I can’t always have my own way
Doing things that can destroy me
With the sin that I want to forget
Forgive and move on to the present

Living for the Lord means
I put all my trust in Jesus Christ
Without taking time to remember
All the worries and yearnings from
A time when I wasn’t full of love

Living for the Lord means
I give generously from my heart
With all that the Lord has given me
Both material possessions and the 
Joy of love, hope, faith and inspiration

Living for the Lord means
I listen to what it says in the Bible
With an ear for all the good will that says
What makes me live the way God intends
With a sense of peace that never ends

Living for the Lord means
I walk away from the worst misadventures
Failing to give into the yearnings of my flesh
And welcoming the grace that He presents
When I simply listen to what He suggests

Living for the Lord means
I let go of grudges and old worries
Listen to the goodness He wants to show me
With a faith that He will always be with me
A continual guide to always bless me especially

Living for the Lord means
I don’t let the past ruin my future
I reach out to the One who knows my heart
And ask Him to lead me to the best parts
Where I can give and love with spiritual love

Living for the Lord means
I never let anger or anxiety guide my steps
Instead I take the hand of the One who is everything
And give in to the yearning for a true friend
The One who gave it all – He even died for me
