One of my earlier poems that I felt like really captured the spirit of what I was trying to do. Metaphorical in nature but also very poetic sounding. I was always extremely proud of this one. Also, for anyone wondering, even though I get religious in my poems fairly often, I am not religious and that is not the point of my work. I use religion to add dramatics and give it a more "serious" undertone. This one falls into that catagory as it is not about religion or encouraging any of those idiologies, it has a slight religious undertone but if anything, it just entertains the idea. It is not a religious poem. Regardless I am very proud of the wording of this one.

Unsettled conversation in a backyard filled with untested solutions On the surface, he extinguishes the only guiding light they had to share Now he faces them, headstrong “Fear not my only children mistreated souls will always venture on” In a backyard filled with untested solutions holds an unsettled conversation, lacking mediation Forgive me father, how could I rise to occasion without a compass in my hand, begging for exploration?
