Live On
I feel you in every deafening pause
I taste your sorrows on my open tongue
Your anxious pulse on my fingertips
I want to warm your hesitant hands
I want to reassure your quivering lips
Trace your trust into my hope's light
Till you are mighty and whole
Your sinking eyes heavy my heart's load
I think of all that you have endured
I inwardly moan,
I bleed profusely
The tears enrapture my soul
I want to take all your pain away
In one pristine sweep
I implore peace to rain once more
With all her notes resounding
Harmonious and true
Strange and narrow
The paths to her melody await
I see you in each descending sunset
The next more somber than the last
I know your rage and your want
Your desperation in your cold smile
I wish to bring you the sun once more
To give you the faith to love
To give you the strength one needs
To live on
Galatians 6:2 – “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
