Live, Laugh, Love

Little babies are born
Into a world that has a
Vicious, 'Dog eat dog!'
Environment.

Long days pass
Amid the chaos of war.
Ugly scars mar beauty, while
Gaiety is almost non-existent.
How can life be so cruel?

Listen to the call for peace, to
Overcome ruthlessness.
Visualize a better life, where
Everyone lives, laughs, and loves.

And don't think that you are alone in that sentiment. Yes, Virginia, there is a consensus on that. I guess that you get that a lot around Christmas? But it seems further than ever, doesn't it? Thanks for your comment and regards from Gerard.

This message is epic and too often ignored, for it is the doom of men to forget. But time does have a way of correcting the mistakes of our fathers as the pendulum swings. Your poem cuts to the heart of the cancer. Thank you for honoring my poetry with your comments.

You turned a great acrostic into a great and rhythmic poetic. You were in fine poetic form and exercised beautiful prosodic control. Nice job Virginia. tom
