Little Engine Like Me
Bundled with so many places to go
an extra ounce of energy
would put me over the top,
somewhere along this line
I have need for a rest stop.
Letting my mind get off and stretch
checking my fuel gauge and clearing my eyes
I have traveled far and long
will view the map and take a breather
my engine hums of spirit and song.
like the ‘little engine that could’
continues his climb with lots of smoke
Positive attitude and determination engaged
I know I can make it up to the summit
chugging along for I have aged
