Listening

LISTENING

it’s a given
old people are forgetful
every one says so
most old people will listen
and so they are infected

when one gets older
one naturally slows down
every one says so
most old people will listen
and their minds are infected

these few listened too
deaf beethoven wrote his ninth
einstein listened
verdi – 80 – wrote falstaff
they called it miraculous

the old just wither
they just wait around to die
listen to the crowd
some greats, too were listening
but it’s what they listened to

What was it that "they listened to", Daver? Sometimes music will enter the mind from the strangest sources. Almost as though it is felt on an angel's breath. "old" is a blessing, a gift., When one listens to the work of these composers, one shouldn't think of their age, but rather the artistry, skill and accomplishment. As you do. Keep well Daver! Love, Mikki

thanks for your lovely comments today. Glad you also liked some pop stars. Gosh, there was not ONE beatle song you really liked? They were not my favorites but I liked a few songs such as strawberry fields, Yesterday, and Imagine.
