Listening
Murky sea, hides monsters and jewelry, so perk your ears
Through the trees, the wind will blow quickly, so perk your ears
The constant unkempt promises on the radios
Still will scream, whilst we all softly dream, so perk your ears
The familiar newscasters tell more knowing we're quick
To agree yet so slow to believe, so perk your ears
Our kids, dressed for summer, wave a bat and glove saying
"Pretty please!", but we're just too busy, so perk your ears
As grandpa interrupts and grabs my shoulder. "I have
Lots to teach, my little Timothy, so perk your ears!"
