Selfishness fills the soul with fear Breaks the heart with a gentle tear Ego evokes the nature’s lure Peace with God is the only cure Pride destroys all the heart’s best dreams Promising answers for life’s schemes Breathless prayers right and ensure Peace with God is the only cure Vanity daunts the sweetest smile Darkens the heart with its lifestyle Kindness will make the heart mature Peace with God is the only cure Conceit is merely haughtiness Despite all the heart’s naughtiness Faith and love will always endure Peace with God is the only cure Greediness blackens the spirit Gospel? Listen. Do you hear it? Love this alive will thrive, make sure Peace with God is the only cure Charity is what we believe It is love that will not deceive Nothing in life is more secure Peace with God is the only cure Wonderful counselor He is When our soul’s hope falls into His This is light darkness won’t obscure Peace with God is the only cure
