Listen To My Heartbeat

Listen to my heartbeat
A broken mess, just scattered pieces
Could this be it?

Where do I go tonight, when I’m not alright?
I am tired of this place
I don’t wanna remember, but I don’t wanna forget
There is no distraction to mask what is real
And I’ll never say enough if I tell the world
I tried so hard
Should I give up?
Is it all a waste?

Listen to my heartbeat
A broken mess, just scattered pieces
Is it dying yet?

a beautiful poem, the acutely felt sadness notwithstanding ...
