LISTEN TO ME

When I speak
You don’t seem to hear me
But you should
Cause, I am saying something you need to hear
Listen to me

There are times I speak softly, 
But my words are still spoken
Yet you fail to hear, 
Or you roll your eyes at me
Listen to me

I am telling you how I feel
Things that matter most to me
But you seem not to care
This has been going on for a while
Listen to me

If you continue to not listen to me
Or not care what I have to say
There will come a time
When I will silence my voice
At that point, it will be too late
Listen to me or watch me walk away.

What matters, however, is writing truthfully about one’s feelings. I will respond to your poem "Listen to Me" with my own life credo. Please forgive my imperfect English: "It is immensely difficult to truly understand another person.
