Listen Closely

I doubt that he had ever heard a sound like that WHISPER*. The entirety of his life and calling came with a big bang. He was aggressive and bold, but could be easily frighten. And God himself usually responded to him with power. Not this time, because He spoke differently in a WHISPER. We can know God intimately through Christ, but we cannot put Him in a box, or in no way can we control the actions of God. He may blast the heavens with a storm today, or send a cool breeze. But this time, God must have surprised Eligah with a WHISPER. God loves to be, and can be known, but not taken for granted. When one encounters God, He might speak through a burning bush. And He has also been known to speak through the mouth of a mule. One must really be in tune to God's frequencies to hear Him WHISPER. Eligah's life's calling was permeated with power-packed drama and action. His God caused fire to lick up water, stopped the rain for three and a half years. He called down fire from heaven and later feared the wrath of a queen. There are times we need to hear from God with a bang, but He WHISPERS. The car is in disrepair, and the mortgage is late; and God WHISPERS. The world is running out of answers, falling apart, and God WHISPERS. Don't worry folks. God is still on the throne, even when He WHISPERS. 071221PSCtest, Whispers, John Lawless *1 Kings 19:11-13
