Lingering Storm of Death

When the mind rebels at the thought of death, The heart throbs and the body shudders; With unknown depths of terrorising fear Can life hold joys when death lurks around? Life is the sensation we all have felt, Love the pinnacle I may not climb. Shall Aphrodite, grovel in human storms; Or let the string slip without some thought. Though I face death I long for life, Will life last long, when death is so near; For life is love, and tender thoughts And death the end of that, I love.
