Lingering Kiss
He kissed her lips but once
Gentle like sunshine
Soft like morning breeze
For her time stood still
A lifetime had passed
She felt her blood rushing
Her cheeks blushing
Her thoughts crashing
Like a sand castle
Her body quivering
Unlike lonely coldness shivering
Her heart pounding
Like drums sounding
In that fleeting moment
She felt alive
Her soul thawed of loneliness
Her spirit took a lasting breath
Her hope for love
Evaded death
Her shroud of sadness was lifted
Into his lips she drifted
An angel's song
One kiss...
Her wish granted
In dream he faded.
