Linger
Moments mirror
slow-motioned silhouettes,
suspended in the still
of trickling time.
Your hands
have yet to feel me,
though I've never
felt so touched.
Tangled
in the tension
between our bated breath,
eager to explore,
altering the air
now heavy and electric.
Fleeting flashes
blur between us,
on the brink,
summoning the surge
of a storm yet to break.
Your arms
weave their way
around my waist,
shattering time’s tempo.
Our lips linger,
and you inhale
my sigh, slowly.
Then you kiss me,
fast and fierce.
