Limitless
My art teacher
chastises me
for always
being
too bold
blending styles
mixing it up
she likes things
neat and orderly
all separate categories
And it makes me wonder
how she got out of art school
at all
I like being
different
and I like to
push boundaries
sometimes blatantly ignoring
the so called "rules"
I admit to that
But I like letting my art overtake me
letting out my mind
sketching it all out on a piece
of flawless white paper
changing it
into the creation
I see in my mind's eye
Perhaps
sometimes
what I draw
or paint
or sculpt
is not exactly
what she had
in mind
but who is she
to put a rein
on my creativity?
I like my art
but if I can't be
unlimited
do what I want to do
how is it art at all?
