Limerick: Twenty-Three Skidoo

Flapper Shirley Shively sighed and thought, how could she?
She'd love to do that hootchie-kootchie dance, but would she?
Though the boys she loved to tease,
She was, sadly, quite obese.
Surely Shirley Shively shouldn't shimmy, should she?

Thanks, Ilene. I wonder how a "lisper" would fare with that last line...

Why ever not, Shirley Shively should shimmy with pride, never mind how wide she is on the outside, what matters is what shimmy’s in her inside… Belle

Yeah, I'm sure Shirley got lots of wiggle room on the dance floor. Thanks.
