Limerick Trio

There once was a woman called Eve, who kept many things up her sleeve. But the best of them all, which made poor Adam fall, was kept... where you’d never believe! There was once a woman of merit, who kept for a lark, a pet ferret: It made her squawk, and made folks gawk, when it dived in her bra should they scare it! The Queen said she gave a full pardon, to a criminal old and hardened: but ere his sentence was stopped, he’d already been topped: and pushing up crops in the garden! Rhymer. August 26th, 2016

Hi Betty and thanks for your comments. There's a lot of 'facets' to my poetic writings. Limericks were a phase I went through - back and forth with friends - and return to practice when I get really stymied in a writer's block. I find, it often helps kick-star my muse. Busy keeping my garden alive these days. Scorching hot and humidity saps my strength by mid day. Catch you later. Regards. Ciao Denis.

Excellent Denis...Keep an eye out for Jack Ellison and Jan below. They are both great at the limerick an humour in general.

Thanks Tim. There was a time when I wrote limericks almost non-stop. They're addictive! Lol. I have hundreds in my poetry vaults someplace. Will see what I can find - only the clean ones of course! Ha ha. Ciao Denis.

Fabulous humour Denis - each of the poems is brilliantly funny. I love writing this form. Its a shame you didn't pen a poem for my 'at the footbridge' poem which snowballed and turned into a limerick fest with about 17 other poets joining in the fun:-) hugs Jan xx
