Notes About The Poem

My drawing. In Sumerian lil means "spirit and itu "moon" but together they simply mean Owl.

Lilith

Evil is her game A she-demon of the night Lilith is her name She spreads her wings then takes flight On souls, she feasts with delight

I really hesitate to comment but I must at least speak of the other view of Lilith. She was Adams first wife but unlike Eve she was created as Adam was from the earth. She would not be subservient to Adam so he complained to God and she was banished from Eden. Where she consorted with the beings there. I hope you do not mind. Your work is very well done.

Wow you are an artist my friend! What an impressive drawing to go with your great poem! I seem to remember that she had a bad reputation for smothering infants in their sleep. I hope you had a really wonderful Father's Day WW. Aloha, Connie : )

I too enjoy mythology of all kinds. Lilith, from what I've read, was Adam's 2nd wife. Whether it's true or not bothers me not in the least. Thanks for reading my cauliflower poem. Best to you in your writing endeavors. M

Yes, in Jewish folklore she was made out of the same dirt as Adam and left him to be with Archangel Samael! Thanks, Chris /|\

She is a figure in the Jewish mythology developed earliest in the Babylonian Talmud! She refused to serve man, so she gets my respect! Haha! Thanks, Nette /|\

She was pre-Eve's era! It is supposed to be forbidden to utter her name! So I'll say no more, haha! Enjoy your day, Jan /|\
