Like a tree in the green forest- I reach for the sky,
into each new dawn I pray, but Lord, I
keep secrets deep in my soul like cherished children,
enclosed in my pain and grief and anguish.

And I have fallen Lord, fallen apart!

The leaves on my branches are trembling with fear,
reaching for your help, reaching- I whisper
everyday, I call to you for courage to live one more day,
everyday, you answer me with yes you can.

Until the end- my roots are deep, though big
parts of my heart have gone missing, Lord
on angel wings all my beloved and pets flew to Heaven,
now, I stand here alone- but still tall as a forest tree.

Taught from an early age to hold myself tall, to
have courage, to hide my tears and pride, oh
inside of me is a bright burning flame, where
survival murmurs . . .

Even though my life has fallen into shattered pieces,
and everyone I love have gone up above, the
reality is that I am a warrior strong- a warrior, so
'til my last earthly gasp- I will stand tall, can you
hear me roaring, Lord . . .
