Lighting My Candle From Within

I light my candle from within the more I give to you, An inner strength builds inside, it fills my empty soul, The encompassing love present when my life was askew, Needing a reason to get up every morning was my goal, Volunteering at hospice gave me more, filling a gapping hole. Oh, Lee, this moved me to tears. This is one of the best writes I've read for this contest and its message is strong and so meaningful. My dad was in palliative care for a month. Those volunteers, like you, made it more meaningful to him. This one is going into my fave's, Dear. Keep typing, keep writing, you are reaching hearts. Want this high on the podium. Cheers, Cyndi

Oh Cyndi, your kind words are bringing me to tears. The patients bring more rewards to me than me to them, this I am sure. Love Lee

Lee, This is beautiful, I light candles all the time, I truly believe they help in times of trouble and they give me peace just watching them glow. This is a lovely poem of the candle within, the giving of self is a gift and the hospice will benefit for sure.
