Life's Tough? Chill Friend! Try a Nap!
An afternoon nap (for hour after one's lunch) clears the cobwebs
that make eyes' lids sag, that cocoon good intentions like they were
more butterfly's wings (1) God might hatch on the world near Time's ending.
But dreams that folks spin don't upgrade predilections like naps can!
Lose touch with truth's rhythms (in service of Mammon), mirages
play heart! Where's soul's progress (is shade found in God's will?) God chose rest
from labor (Day Seven) and called the day "Holy!" Without dreams,
"Rem Sleep," paranoia can rule days and nights (a sad outcome!)
My dad took a nap most days after his lunch. Meals decorum
akin to a war zone, signed "Kids aren't my problem!" 'Thumped bean' (2) screams
and meals (at times) torture! One's plate must be clean! Proof (folks loved?) - Test!
Child's likes or dislikes owned scant weight at most meals and barrages
of protest just hardened bad news! To survive - each day's game plan!
(Dad's day? - home bound's take-home pay?) Good works require love's attending!
When ghosts leave haunt bone-tired, chains clanging through door, cats hiss? They purr?
But maybe a child wants too much? Time to quit! I feel nap vibes!

(1) Chaos Theory suggests that a deadly storm in South Dakota might have its origin in the beating of a butterfly's wings in China!
(2) To be "thumped on the bean" was a punishment in my home for milder offenses, especially at meals.
