Life's Mountain

Do you know what its like ?
Life is like the highest mountain
And we are climbing day by day-
The path is strewn with happy flowers

And stumbling stones along the way
Sometimes the tears wash out the footprints
Along the pathway as we climb,
Stumbling blindly toward the hill top

Through the maze of given time
Scars upon the heart grown deeper
With each loved one that he calls,
And our weary hearts grow heavy

As we face the mountain wall

Sometimes we'd fall were it not for
 That steadying hand of God
To hold us up, to fill our cup,
 As daily on we trod

But, oh, the joy when on that day
 We've scaled that mountain side-
Saw the flowers at the pathways end,
For all the tears we've cried

So, lean heavy on that steady arm
He'll guide you to the brim-
Across the rocks to the mountain top
 And eternal rest with him
