Lifes Last Exit

Life’s Last Exit By: Tom Wright 7/10/2006 A Doctor’s slap, and then my screams Were bellowed at my first breath. Since then I’ve traveled a road of dreams Toward the exit ramp marked death; But betwixt the two I chanced to travel Both crooked beltway and the straight; Seeming at times my life would unravel As I searched for the exit at Heavens Gate; As now my journeys end is nearing I mirror backward to count life’s cost. The distant sounds I hear of cheering For a sheep is found that once was lost.
