Life's a Journey

Let life take you on a journey
Take a chance and let go of every thing you know

Follow the river to the sea
Go look at the horizon
Know what it is to be free
Don't think about the journey ahead, just go

Let the rain wash you
Let the sun dry you
The land will feed you

Time is now and can't be changed
The past has gone, the future will come
Now's the time to hold the reigns

Let your intuition guide you
And your soul lead you
Everything can be achieved
You just have to believe

Appreciate every sound to be heard
And be aware of every smell
Look with your eyes, feel with your hands
Use your senses to the full
And know of things you've never seen

Don't be scared to travel, just follow the road
You will know the way to go, when you're ready to know

Let the wind fill your sails
Let the breeze take you away
Chase your dreams and you'll always find a means

This is sooo beautiful.. It's like you're describing my life a few years ago. So much beauty and magic and wonder, and the freedom you only get to really experience when you have the courage to let go of Life's reigns and trust it to take you wherever you're supposed to go.. Your poems are very inspiring, Stephen, I rarely come across poetry that touches me in such a deep, yet gentle way as yours does. You really are a verbal artist.. Which sounds so much less lovely than I'd like it to.. Haha.

Hmm, I thought it was possible to reply to replies.. Maybe not, but hopefully you'll get this anyway. I have always really liked the idea of people finding their own meanings in my poems. We can all create art and poetry with our own meanings, but when another person experiences them, they make them into their own creation in a way, which I think is beautiful. Yes, I did actually read that, and I liked it a lot. Your way of putting it definitely nicer. :)

Thank you for all your lovely comments Sarah and I'm glad you enjoyed the poems, I always hope that people will find their own imagery and meanings and understanding in my poems. I like to say...... "I am an artist of language, painting pictures with my words and encapsulating the emotions of our time." I think that's the poetic way of putting it anyway. Take care and thank you for connecting.
