Life Is Short
Life is short
Too short to read all the poems ever written
Talk less of novels and plays
This life is too short
To listen to all the music ever recorded
And certainly too short to watch all the movies ever made
This life is too short of me not to think of death
Too short for me not to think of my last hour on earth
For me not to reflect on how I am living my life
I count myself poor and rich
Unlucky and so Lucky
Unfortunate and so fortunate
My heart has run away too many times to count
Chasing desire and worldly pleasure
Have indulge in forbidden dance
I have cheated and stole
Tell lies that can wake the dead
Sinned a mountain high, I am no saint
So is the life have led
But still I am fortunate
For my faith in Allah is unwavering
At a young age have learnt to pray
Learnt to ask for forgiveness and leave pride behind
I have learnt to fast, to leave all self-desire behind to worship Allah
I am lucky
For Allah guidance stirs me clear of the worst
It stirs me back to me, to all that is good
I am rich beyond all measure
Cause to Allah I turn to for reward
Allah the owner of heaven, earth and everything in between
My past is colourful as the rainbow
My present a tie rope walk
But I have hope and faith in solid future
A future where my actions are lead only by the guidance of Allah
Where my heart desires are the whispers of the Quran
The teaching of my beloved prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him)
After-all this life is too short to live for
So I will live for eternity in Paradise
I pray that we all do the same
Assalamu Alakum Wa Rahmatulah Wa Barakatuh
(Peace, mercy and blessing of Allah (S.W.T) be upon you)
