Life Goes On

I used to have a friend in which was my best friend. But now I look at them and all I see is a stranger. I always wondered what our lives would be like if we'd stayed friends. But I never suspected that we'd grow so far apart. I once believed that we were going to be friends for eternity. But now I've realize that everything happens for a reason. If I could turn back time, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I would go back to where we were closer then ever. I never thought I'd see the day me and them could walk past one another without acknowledging the others presence. But I might have to face the fact that we've moved on from each other. I can't help but wish that we might speak again someday. But I can only dream for that day to come. I won't sit around and dwell on the past. But I might focus on moving along with my life. I used to know someone that meant the world to me. But now I look at them and smile at the memory.

Never easy to lose a good friend. But you ended this piece on a positive note, smiling at the memory. Nodding in agreement, well put.
