Life Goes On

Years come and go, Leaving memories behind, Some smiles and some tears, Some laughters and some fears, People come and go, Some people take a piece of your heart And leave an emptiness behind, The change comes crashing Afterwards, The blindness, How to live without that one person, The darkness staring at you, Asking soul shattering questions, ‘How to live now?’ ‘What now?’ ‘Where to go?’ The future, We think about the future, But the future is not coming, It's just the present, That goes on and on, The vile void of nothingness, Sometimes full of something, The search for meaning mourning at your feet, Waiting for you to look down for once, Let it go, let it go, The heart sinks solitarily, The thum thum thum of it Begging for you to Let go, The strings making it sink, Leaving it lifeless, Long for freedom. The meaning never comes, Not everything is meant to be logical, Some things are absurd, They stay absurd. Then again, Life goes on.

Adverse circumstances may come in everyone's life. ' Let go' is the only thing we can do. If one person leaves us, a better person may come. Life is full of changes, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. A beautifuly written poem... emotive too. Stay happy dear Anne.

Ann, I agree that life is in a constant state of change, most of the changes are out of our control except for the way in which we react the change/s. A good work about the topic and encouraging as well. Thank you for sharing it with us. Sara k

Yes, life changes. We ask the questions, we ponder our moments, Love the sentiments of the final lines! Hugs

Dearest Anne, today I am sitting across from you over coffee, unraveling life's quiet truths together. You've certainly captured that rawness of loss, the heart's solitary thum-thum, the absurd void that defies logic, but yet, you end with such wise, hard-earned peace in just letting go, because life does go on. Amen! Winter Blessings, Dearest Anne, Daniel
