Life Begins

I’ve always wanted to be a happy person but never thought I could
For years loved ones told me my life would soon be good

I came across my breaking point and knew there would be no return
I would stand there defeated and watch my world burn

I never had much faith in myself to be strong
But I never realized the strength I had in me all along

Instead of breaking and burning I picked myself up
I squeezed the lemons life gave me and filled my half empty cup

From the darkest of tragedies I found my light
I found a purpose; a reason to be alright

The situation that I thought would destroy me
Had opened up my eyes and truly set me free

So please carefully read my words and take my advice
The next time you feel so low please think twice

There are rainbows after rain and fireflies after dark
So go out and live life; find what makes you spark

I promise you can be happy and love the life you are in
Open up your mind and your heart and let your new adventure begin
