Life Backwards

If life could be played backwards
Just think of all the fun
Instead of growing old with you
Together we'd grow young

We'd start off frail and feeble
Looking forward to the gain
Of a future full of happiness
Free from aches and pains

The looks that lie within us
Would continue to come out
Revealing a much younger us
That would be no doubt

We'd gain back those we love
That had to go before
They'd feel the hurt of our loss
But that's what we'd prefer

We'd spend all our happy times
Filled with passion and much joy
Then find the feelings of first love
As a young girl or a boy

We'd continue to grow younger
And just before the end
We'd return to cute and cuddly
With our very best life friend

So if ever I am asked
Would this way of life I choose
My answer would be yes
If it was shared with you
