Life and Times
The life and times of years I've spent
have led me to these days of gray
I've reached old age without lament
remember the times along the way
and learn each day is there to rent
As memories fade some remain
and hide as shadows in my mind
they haunt my soul in its domain
walk in silence when they unwind
and try to pull me to their pain
Born from dreams on an empty road
they fell inside me into the dark
perhaps ambition was too heavy a load
trying to reach a rainbow's arc
till' life around me came to implode
