Life a Play of Destiny Or Choices

It's a tad tough to decide this one,
Is life an outcome of chance and destiny -
Or an amalgamation of choices
Consistently taken during the course of time.
It looks like it is somewhere in between.
Where an individual is born, the parents and their financial circumstances
Are an outcome of fate -
And most of this is like the roll of the dice.
But as events start presenting themselves one by one,
It's the conscious choices we make at every juncture
That determine the course of our life.
For at each crossroad life present's us with,
It seems to ask us what we want.
Every road we traverse leads us onto a different outcome,
And then onto other crossroads where we again have to choose.
While the intersections themselves are put there by destiny,
Just like the people we meet,
Or the circumstances we find ourselves in,
Thus what we discover on the road is ordained by fate.
But the path selected among the available options
was a choice -
It is secondary whether the choice was made actively or in a passive state.
Each of these outcomes of choice keep adding on.
And gradually the gradient of life moves from destiny
To the individual skill of making choices.
Hence the starting point of life's journey is destiny,
And the journey and the end result is determined by choices.
