Life

LIFE
Poem
Lionel Derbyshire

When in doubt ..
I start to measure life
How long is peace ?
Without a pill
It is shorter than a bee sting
I'll answer
When luck was next to me
It did not stay very long
Love was there ..
It did not roll along
I let it run away
Yesterday’s pains
Are not disappearing
They only get wider
They hit and they run
I am thankful
No longer for my birth
Life is a
Cry and scream of
Abuse and shout in
Fight and blood with
Pain and ill
Dry hunger , cold scandal
Let down ..go down give
Or be killed
But .. !
I got to get rhythm
That is key
My rhythm I must find
Challenge and move
Grab the handle
Open the door
I must shake
Wake up .. awake
Get up .. start
Heart on fire
Soul is burning
The fire of doubt
I put out.

You know it is not
That easy
Let’s start all over again
Life ..
Lend me a hand.
I did not know what to do.
