Life

I can feel your fear
scared, to walk out your door
afraid of what, people are thinking
what do they think of me, the fear mounts

Yet what does it matter 
what they think, they are strangers 
their thoughts have little affect
on your life

People will like you 
people will hate you
you can't please, all the people 
so let go of your fear, live for yourself

What do you like about life
what do you enjoy
perhaps each day, is full of self doubt
fear and anxiety, playing through your mind

Head to the second hand book shops
pick up books about jokes 
read the jokes, allow yourself to laugh
replace your fears with laughter

Granted there will be days of pain
days where you have to face your problems
yet the more we laugh 
the more we enjoy life

you can set yourself tasks 
tasks to improve your life 
learn to play a musical instrument
learn to build a career

Learn to overcome, that alcohol problem 
learn to beat, that drug problem 
you can do it, the only person, that limits you,
is you, you have the strength, to beat yourself

The only drink, you have to beat, is the first one
if you never have, that first drink
you overcome, your alcohol problem
the same goes for drugs, yes it's hard

but it can be done
self talk and fear, can destroy your effort
sometimes the fear of failure, stops your effort
afraid of not succeeding, you give up trying

yet, that's when you need to develop, 
positive self encouragement, 
tell yourself, I can do this 
tell yourself time and time again

give yourself rewards, 
a small chocolate bar, 
that special cd,
a picnic at the park

Family might have lost faith in you,
but learn to build faith, in yourself 
with each success, your confidence grows
don't let others, destroy faith in yourself 

build your sense of humor
the more you enjoy live 
the more your attitude attracts 
other people 

Laugh and the world laughs with you
cry and you cry alone
learn to keep yourself out of debt
granted it easy to get loans

but ounce, you are in debt 
paying those never ending bills, 
that depressing, when week after week,
you fight, to climb above that debt

Stop blaming others, 
stop getting onto
the round about of arguments
your parents did not force you, to take drugs

the more we accept responsibility
the more we realize, we control our life
the more we control ourselves
the better life, we can create for ourselves
