Lies and Scars

Once he was my hero
The one I admired
The one I adored
The one I looked up to
Respected
And loved

He was my first love
The first to held my hand
When there’s cloud beneath my head
His face that I looked first
For comfort
And safety
Engulfed me in his arms

Then
Truth was shown
Secrets unsealed
My hero
My knight
Is my nightmare
In the dark

You whom I love
A dearest
Once precious
Your betrayal and lies
The hurt and the pain
Scarred me to life

I ask myself
Could it be more hurtful?
More worst than this?
Without a doubt
The answer is yes
Swear to God
I feel it in my gut
Strangling and choking
No air
I'm breathless
Yet
No tears
Non anything
Empty
and Numb

Yet, I believe
With time
With faith
And hope
And light
No pain unbearable
No cuts unhealed
Nor tears unshed
Even scars still fade.
